Port del Comte Ski Club

The Ski Club of Port del Comte was established more than 35 years ago in Sant Llorenç de Morunys (Solsonès) taking advantage of the opening of the ski resort with which we share the same name.

The town of Sant Llorenç de Morunys, with 1,000 inhabitants, is located at the foot of the mountains of Port del Comte, on the right side of the Cardener River and surrounded by the town of Guixers except on the north side, which borders the town of La Coma i la Pedra. The whole of this territory is the Vall de Lord.

Prepirineo Hiker Club

The origin of the Prepirineo Hiker Club is found in the concerns of a group of young people who selflessly decided to formalize and open to all that which used to be done individually and as amateurs: getting together to practice outdoor sports and activities.

Moreover, up until now, many of us found ourselves with the obligation to belong to foreign, far away entities to handle the processing of federated licenses. From now on, however, whoever wishes it will be able to federate through the PPRC.

The goal of the Club is the desire to participate in activities that take advantage of the magnificent natural environment around us and to promote appreciation among all who want to be part of it!

Vall de Lord Tourism Association

Our purpose is to acquaint the visitor with the main features and attractions of this wonderful valley as well as all the available services, and also all those events that may be of interest. We hope you will find it useful, and on behalf of the entire tourist sector of the Vall de Lord, we give you our warmest welcome!

North of the Solsonès region, bordering the Pyrenees, you will find this beautiful and little known valley surrounded by spectacular mountains. Population centers that make up the Vall de Lord are three:

Sant Llorenç de Morunys is the smallest town in size but the most populated. It is home to a church dating to the 11th century which is well worth visiting. The village retains the five original entrance gates to the old city walls, and offers all kinds of services and amenities.

La Coma I La Pedra; two beautiful villages surrounded by forest, where we can enjoy the splendid springs of the Cardener River or the ski resorts of Port del Comte.

Guixers; east of the valley, where the population is scattered in farm houses located between the green of the meadows watered by the river Aigua de Valls and mountain forests.

Mountain roads that range from the flattest to the most difficult, will lead you through forests of pine and centenary oak trees, where you can get revitalized by the landscape and the purity of the air and the water from numerous springs.

The Vall de Lord nature in its purest state; where guests will receive a warm welcome, good restaurants, cured meats and artisanal cheeses, and the peace that frees us from the stress and anxiety of everyday life.

Vall de Lord Cultural Association

An ongoing project The Vall de Lord Cultural Association is an institution founded in 1946 by a group of villagers of Sant Llorenç de Morunys who were interested in the history, traditions, cultural heritage, and landscape of the Vall de Lord.

In 2002, it was established as a non-profit Association, according to the Law 7/1997, and since then the statutes are registered in the Register of Associations of the Generalitat de Catalunya.

From the beginning, and based on donations or findings of the association partners themselves, a collection was being formed, representating the cultural and ethnographic heritage of the Vall de Lord - the management of which is one of the main objectives of the Association.

Besides channeling and promoting interest in cultural issues linked to the territory, the Association regularly conducts exhibitions and other events, and has published several works of historical and cultural topics related to the Vall de Lord. It also has at its disposal a collection of antique photographs and a documentary archive in constant growth, the aim of which is to maintain and revive the memory of past aspects of the territory.
